Husband and wife both get cancer after using Roundup

On Behalf of | Nov 21, 2019 | Personal Injury |

A man and his wife both used Roundup repeatedly, and now they have both been diagnosed with different — but similar — types of cancer. They believe those two things are closely related.

The woman was diagnosed with cancer five years ago. She has a non-Hodgkin lymphoma type that is known to be aggressive and that attacks the central nervous system. She has been fighting it, and her husband has been beside her every step of the way.

However, they recently got the news that he too has non-Hodgkin lymphoma. His is not exactly the same as hers. It is a slow-growing type called chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). He only found out that he had it because his bloodwork raised some questions during his physical, and they looked into it a bit deeper than they would have otherwise.

Lawsuits about Roundup are getting closer every day, so the two are now trying to see if they can combine their claim. They argue that they should be able to use both cases as evidence since they are both non-Hodgkin lymphoma, the type often connected to Roundup.

The man also says that he usually mixed up the herbicide for his wife to use. He also tested the sprayer before giving it to her. She then applied it, but they were both exposed — not to mention that they used Roundup on their own property, and he could have been exposed while she was spraying it if he was in the area at the time.

This news just helps to show how serious Roundup can be and why everyone needs to know their legal options.
